Soda, Pop, or Coke?
Which is right, and why?
(Even though everybody smart should know that it is called SODA, we'll entertain this topic for debate.)

Oh, most certainly soda. Have you ever seen a bottle which said pop on it? I haven't. And frankly, I probably would have thought it was a new term for Mr. Yuk, because that's just wrong.
Just because some yokels over the ocean call it that doesn't mean anything. And, heck, most of them say SODA pop if you ask them to elaborate.
The best piece of logic I can offer is that pop is a verb, and you don't drink verbs.
Nix the pop.
Soda, soda, soda.
Coke is a type of soda.
Pop is a type of music.

Coke? Do you mean cola? Now while generally i call it soda myself, couldn't cola be perfectly viable? Pop..is just stupid though.

Soda refers to:
* a chemical compound containing sodium
* Sodium carbonate, washing soda or soda ash
* Sodium bicarbonate, baking soda
* Sodium hydroxide, caustic soda
* Sodium oxide
* Soft drinks, or Cola
The correct term is obviously "soft drinks".
Coke is definitely wrong, unless you're actually referring to Coca-Cola. My stance on soda vs. pop is that it depends on what part of the country you are currently in. So if you're in California, soda is the correct term or you risk looking like a tool. I'm sure the opposite would be true in some mid-western states.
What are words other than the meanings we give them? I believe that soda/pop/coke should be called invagination, and I will refer to it as such from now on.

I personaly don't drink the stuff, but Coke is Coca-Cola and Pop is my grandfather! :-)
